Aika

Aika, the Englush bull mastiff came to live with us when her human Mom and Dad had to move to DuBai. They thought it would be too hot for her and too far for her to fly. She was with us almost two years. She got sick on a Friday and died Sunday. It was the biggest shock to us. The results of the necropsy showed a large tumor on her heart. I felt so guilty! Why didnt I notice something? Could I have saved her?? The vet at the hospital was so kind and her staff were amazing. She assured me that there was no way I would have known and that ut can happen fast. I still feel like I should have known. Somehow. Aikas favorite spot in the house was the dining room floor by the window looking out to the river. Several months later we decided it was time to find another family member and a pal for our golden Lily. We found a little boy and named him Buster. Ever since Buster came home to us he goes to Aikas favorite spot to relax and snooze. I think he knows. And he keeps that spot for her. Aika, we miss you and love you so. You were and are, our angel.
