Cagney

Forever in our hearts
This wonderful Golden Girl came into our lives at a year and a 1/2 of age from The Seeing Eye Center. She was a "reject" for chasing lights and a possible condition in her eyes. We'll always be thankful for that silly anomaly of hers that enabled her to be ours. Although virtually all Golden Retrievers love people, our Cagney-girl adored people like they were Gods. More than one vet. tech. mentioned we should make her a therapy dog, however getting cancer at the young age of 4, that was not to be. From multiple treatments and lots of love she fought the odds and stayed with us an additional year from any literature on her type of cancer. In her short life she got to live in 2 different states, run in the woods, enjoy hiking and lake swimming in the Adirondacks, ride first-class in airplanes, and be unconditionally loved by her family. She was survived by her best friend, a Border Collie mix, who mourned for her until quite recently. She'll never be forgotten.
