Cali

My special angel, my Bengal Cali, was with me for 17+ years. Always by my side and slept with me every night. She taught herself how to turn on lights, open draws the same way I did by putting her paws into a draw pull and walk on her hind legs backward to pull it and loved to play fetch. Whenever I called her name would respond with her meow and would carry on conversations with me. On September 11, 2001 I was working in Manhattan. I didn't suffer what so many did that day but I was so afraid that I might not make it home that day that I called friends and asked them to please take care of her if I didn't make it home. I was more concerned for her than I was for my own life, that's how much I loved her. Cali went over to Rainbow Bridge almost four years ago and not a day goes by that I don't think of her. While I love my current Bengals, Bonnie and Clyde, my Cali will always be my special Angel Cat. So on this September 11th I especially remember you, Cali. You will always be in my heart.
