Cambria
Forever in our hearts
Cami, our "Cambria Crescent Moon" was my heart Golden. She was a purebred American Golden Retriever who didn't meet anyone or any dog she didn't consider a friend. After 2 ACL surgeries on each back leg, she was trim and in great health --- or so we thought. After 1 1/2 years of great times post-surgery, I returned to the orthopedic surgeon and heard those dreadful words: possible cancer. Hers was osteosarcoma. We visited a local canine oncologist after we thought & prayed long and hard. We had her leg amputated and she seemed to perk up since the pain was gone and we all know how Goldens seem to tolerate pain.....She underwent chemo like a trooper. Unfortunately as we know the cancer was more stubborn-we spent Christmas Eve and day of 2012 loving on her and she passed away on December 26. She has a hero in this study now fighting that no more families or Goldens have to fight or endure this dreadful disease.
