Charm – the Matriarch of the Conifer Crew On November 7, 2013 the Conifer Crew said goodbye to one of the best Golden Girls ever! We were blessed to have her in the family for five years. She came to us as a transport and one or two night foster before we were to bring her to the Rescue. After 24 hours with Charm I KNEW we would be foster failures and Charm would not be leaving our home. She had just turned 7 and she fit into our home like she had been part of the family since she was born. When GRLS Hero #11 Astro moved in from Boston at age 10 weeks, she immediately took him under her wing and raised him to be a respectful, fun loving and sensitive puppy. We could not have been as successful with him if it hadn’t been for “Great Aunt Charm”. In July 2013 she suddenly collapsed and rushing her to our Vet we heard words we never wanted to hear, Hemangiosarcoma with three tumors in her Spleen. We were lucky to keep her happy and engaged for 4 extra months with treatment and she left us just a few months shy of her 13th birthday. Charm was indeed a gift from heaven and she will always be Angel Charm in our hearts. Our goldens Romeo and Astro still miss her, but our whole family – and all who knew of her, are greater for her life. Happy Trails little girl, you are a bright star at the Rainbow Bridge.
