Chloe Dakota

Forever in our hearts

Our sweet Chloe girl came into our lives April of 2006. She was a sweet tiny little kitty that someone had dumped so we took her in and gave her a loving home to grow and thrive in. She went from a wee small baby to a big girl in no time at all. She just knew she was the queen of the castle and laid her claim on what she considered to be hers. She had her own patio chair, her own spot on the couch, her own spot under a chair that had to be draped with a towel so she could hide and her very own office chair. Chloe could be just as sweet as ever then spring her cattitude on you in a heartbeat. If she didn't like something she didn't hesitate to let you know. She loved sour cream, and occasional taste of cool whip (what we called her kitty ice cream) and would totally lose her mind over cantelope. Our girl loved being the center of attention and being on her daddy's lap getting loved on at the end of the day. She also loved helping with the laundry by running to the dryer as soon as it stopped so she could get her dryer sheet. Chloe would roll around on her dryer sheet and love on it until it got cold. She was a big helper with making the bed when the linen was warm and fresh out of the dryer. She would jump on the bed and get between the sheets and stay there until you were done. Mail time was another fave of hers and any time there was junk mail we would tell her that she had mail. We would put it on the floor by where we sat and she would lay on it and tear it with her teeth. We would laugh and tell her she was using her eye teeth to read her mail. She also loved music very much and we often played it just for her. As Chloe got older and arthritis started to set in she had trouble getting on and off her favorite office chair. Her dad took the base and wheels off of it so it would just sit on the floor and she loved that. She would curl up in her office chair with her self warming blanket and meow at us until we turned on her radiator heater. In October of 2021 our girl was diagnosed as having diabetes and had to get injections twice a day. She was such a trooper and after a while she would come to me and meow when she knew it was time for her shot. Then she would lay down in front of me so I could give her an injection. She had also been diagnosed with CKD around the same time and had to get sub q fluids twice a week and was such a tough girl through it all. Sadly our Chloe girl left us on 9-22-22 and there is so much I could say about her lifetime with us but I would be typing for at least a week. She was such a unique girl and filled with unconditional love for her humans and fur siblings. People often say how lucky she was to have us when actually we were the lucky ones. A short 16 1/2 years in our lives and forever in our hearts. We will love and miss you always Ms. Chloe Dakota!
