Conner
Forever in our hearts
Conner– adopted 2001-d.2012
I adopted Conner in 2001 from the White River Human Society in IN, after learning I had scored a job with the Bureau of Land Management in Montana. I was told I would be living in a one room cabin on the border between Wyoming and Montana and I was allowed to have a companion if I so chose. After visiting the Human Society one day, I met a young Treeing Walker Coonhound, and then spent the week thinking about him and was soon back picking him up to bring him along on this crazy adventure with me. He was a very shy, quite dog until we stopped on top of the Big Horn Mountains in WY to stretch our legs after driving across the country. All of a sudden I had a dog that was baying at me while giving himself a snow bath. From that moment on, he was the most vocal dog I have ever known. My best friend for 11 years was able to explore throughout Indiana, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, North & South Dakota, Navada, & California. He swam in the Mississippi River, Lake Superior, The Pacific Ocean, and many other lakes, small rivers & streams in his life, plus ran in the mountains of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Conner touched every person he met while traveling with me, showing the world what a great dog you can get when you open your heart to a rescue. He was able to experience more in his life than most people ever do all because The White River Humane Society was there to help bring him and I together to have one amazing life adventure.
