Dooder
Forever in our hearts
I adopted Dooder on 4/9/2004 from a rescue. When I went there, they had cats running loose in separate rooms, but Doo was in a cage because she was recovering from dental surgery where she had almost all her teeth removed at just 3 years old. She was severely neglected and possibly abused by her previous owners, but was such a gentle, kind soul. I put my hand in her cage and she rolled right on her back to have me scratch her belly. She was the one...I went back after she recovered, she was now with the other cats and she led me over to a bench, I sat down, she climbed on my lap and swatted any other cat looking for attention from me. I opened the carrier and she walked right in as if to say, "let's go home." I was blessed to have her for over ten years. Last September, I took her to my vet because she was losing weight, and she was diagnosed with lymphoma. I was heartbroken and tried several different medications and supplements to sustain her quality of life. She did wonderfully for two months, but let me know it was time to say goodbye on November 30, 2014. Right after we returned from the vet's office, she made her presence known in our house when my husband and I both smelled her so strongly, and it quickly dissipated. It was amazing, and I know she is still here with us.
