Elbi

Elbi and his 5 littermates were born just after I graduated from vet school when their pregnant mother showed up at my sisters' door. He and his brother Houdini became my family at 6 months of age, while his sister and brothers went to my brother and nieces' homes. He and his brother have filled my life with comfort, happiness, and love, and never ceased to amaze me how their personalities evolved. Elbi loved to play fetch, dropping is favorite white mouse toy at my feet and then looking expectantly for me to throw it, and giving a happy 'chirr', and he also loved to play with the da' Bird toy. He would also chase his mouse in and around the dining table and chairs in an imaginary game of his own. Every morning he would demand his lap time, with a purr so quiet I could only feel the vibration. The rest of the time he spent cuddling with Houdini. Elbi developed kidney disease several years ago and passed away in May this year at 18 3/4 years old, and leaving Houdini and I to celebrate their 19th birthday without him.
