Eve Of Scotts
Forever in our hearts
Eve Of Scotts... As a young girl, I dreamed of owning my own horse, cowgirl boots and cowgirl hat. When my husband proposed to me, he rode up on a horse dressed as knight in shining armor holding a rose. For my birthday the following year he enrolled me in riding classes. He had remembered my childhood dream. One year later, I assumed care and responsibility of Eve. My very own horse. With the responsibilities that come with ownership.
15 months later I would find myself at her pasture crying and praying for the safe recovery of my husband as he battled colon cancer. Eve would nuzzle my pony tail and Nay as if to let me know all was going to be okay. This BEAUTIFUL girl became a welcomed distraction from cancer and the demanding resposibilities of being an adult for a couple of hours each day. Eve Of Scotts and her son, Sierra were the subject of my first ever published photograph. My passion is photography. I used to think I was not "good enough" to ever be published, but that first photo of my girl, Eve Of Scotts gave me the confidence I was lacking.
At 27 years old one sweltering July day, Eve became very lame and unable to walk.
My bracelet E.O.S. (Eve Of Scotts) is a daily reminder that dreams can and do come true.
