Frankie
Despite the horrors that Frankie lived through as a stray in Houston, he was so full of love and forgiveness. We only had him for two short years before he suddenly passed from Hemangiosarcoma however, we are so grateful to have been able to show him what it means to be loved and have a family. We will forever remember his funny little quirks like sleeping with his tongue out, his happy tap dance when we got home, and his love for car rides and the dog park. His tail never stopped wagging and he always had a massive grin no matter what. He was a saving grace for our family as he joined us shortly after the tragic loss of our last dog, Avery. We are happy to have had him in our lives and he will forever be missed.
Remembering and honoring you every day, in many different ways
What a wonderful way to pay tribute to our lost best friends! My heart is breaking for Frankie and your family. This is a terrible disease--we lost our beautiful Cairn terrier, Chewie, to HSA also, 3 months ago. We are devastated, as I'm sure you are. Have been told several times that this cancer "only happens to the bigger breeds." Well, I'm sorry, that's not true. Thank God for Morris Animal Foundation and the work they are doing to fund research into this and other cancers. Hopefully some day soon we will see a cure. I hope you and your family can remember the good times with Frankie and keep him in your heart forever, as Chewie is in ours. The picture above is of Chewie and his little sister, Wicket (in the bandana). Can you tell we are Star Wars fans?
