Harry
Forever in our hearts
Harry was the typical golden retriever, very lovely and always wanting to be next to us... as close as he could possibly get. At night he would lay down at the end of the bed but by morning crawled and wedged in-between us. He couldn't stand watching us leave and patiently waited at the door for each of us to come home.
He also had a very quirky side. He was obsessed with food. We couldn't keep anything on the counters or sink... he got very good at counter surfing. He quickly found out how to open the handle to the pantry and discover a fest. He was amazingly patient, sitting at the door to go outside or wait until we open the door for him to come back in. He loved water. He would actually swim laps in our pool before and after walks. He just couldn't walk pass a puddle, lake or river.
My favorite Harry story is when our son had to go to the lab for blood work. He put both of our dogs in his jeep and drove to the lab. While my son was waiting in the lobby, in came Harry through the automatic doors with our other dog following.
We lost a member of our family.
