Holly

Holly came to our family on December 31, 2000 through a rescue out of North Carolina. She was approximately 4 years old and a real beauty. Holly gave us almost 15 years of loyal companionship and unconditional love and was a most special member of our family. Early in 2015 Holly was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma on her right paw. Initially she underwent surgery to remove the tumor which they thought was superficial but within weeks the tumor aggressively returned. Days later they would perform a toe amputation. Within two weeks the tumor began to grow again and we knew that we would lose this fight. She was the epitome of strength, grace and courage through the whole ordeal. If we've done it right, we should all aspire to be the person our furry family members think we are. Since her passing from cancer on June 13, 2015, a light has gone out in our lives and home. We miss her as much today as a year ago but try to focus on the joy and many happy memories she gave us. We miss you Miss Holly.
