Hutch
He answered to Hutchie Pie, Honey Pie or Sweet HP. But Hutch-Puppy was his name. Trained to be a service dog, he failed the course to 'avoid the life at hard labor', and instead came to live with me. He would become my angel dog, sent to me from God - who stood by my side for almost 12 years with unfailing loyalty. His favorite hiding hole was behind the kitchen counter stools, his head & paws hanging on the stool cross legs, or maybe snuggled in the space between any sofa & coffee table. He didn't mind going out in the rain & he loved to eat the snow when it fell in Georgia. He had a silver St. Francis medal to wear for protection. It came off his collar one day & was lost outside. Two years later, after the front yard was plowed up and sodded, it was mysteriously found in the grass, gleaming in the sun, and standing out as a sign of Hutch's strength & resilience. In Dec 2012 Hutch was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma; he had surgery to remove an abdominal tumor the size of a soccer ball. We followed with chemo and the Chinese Yunzhi mushroom therapy which gave us 6 more months together. Tho a challenging time for both of us, he was always so perfect & loving, so stoic & brave. His lifelong epileptic seizures would rob him of his playful nature, but he would rally & fight to come back every time. I miss him so much but I know that my Angel Boy Hutchie will forever be at my side. I'm thankful for the work that Morris is doing on behalf of our beloved goldens.
