Ivan

Ivan came to us over 13 years ago, along with the beginnings of our small sheep herd. He was 6 weeks old, orphaned at birth and raised by a goat. Ivan took to his job as our Livestock Guardian Dog immediately, taking charge of the sheep and was their protector to the end of his days last October. His herd was not the only thing he protected with a passion. Years ago when a drug-influenced neighbor tried to run me over with a tractor and beat me with fence pliers, Ivan was there to stop the attack and keep the individual at bay until law enforcement showed up. Everyday I miss this dog who gave me every bit of loyalty and joy, asking for nothing in return but love. RIP my sweet prince.
