JERSEY

Forever in our hearts
Bama's Jersey Girl "Jersey " was born Dec 1997. She was a hell raiser from the day we brought her home at 5 weeks. She jumped fences, ate socks, washcloths, tissues, napkins, the check book, etc. If she felt she was being ignored she'd get one of the throw rugs and tear it up in front of you. She was very vain, posed for pics and was the alpa dog amomg alphas. She LOVED to swim, was the queen of tug 'o war, accepted kisses (didn't give them), absolutely LOVED car rides (the further the better) and she loved her babies...Jersey gave birth to 10 beautiful babies in Sept 01 . She was the best mom dog ever. She loved and cared for all her pups. We kept one (Libby) and boy did she spoil her. She loved her & groomed her (that was there quiet time together) right until the end. Jersey was so smart too...if she wanted to play with a toy she would go and grab 1 she didn't want ( knowing Libby would come and take it) and then she could go and get the one she really wanted. Jersey has very bad arthritis in her back legs. She started getting sick over time...first it was a change in appetite, then she started rejecting certain foods, then she started losing weight ..the vet ran a multitude of tests, thought it might be Cushings, thyroid but they could never pinpoint it -nothing ever showed in her blood work.. They never sent us for tests to see if it was cancer but this went on for about 2years. Jersey fought right until the end. She passed Jan 2012. We miss her so much
