Jodie
Jodie came to me through 11th Hour Animal Rescue and Sanctuary when she was thought to be a year old. She came from Idaho. She had previous pelvic and acetabular fractures that had healed misaligned and affected her back left leg. The rescue paid for her to be seen by three orthopedic vets who said surgery was not recommended and she should be fine. She was fostered by a wonderful woman ( a trainer of service dogs) She wwho taught her manners and obedience.
Jodie lived her life on my 5 acres along with another dog and two cats. She was so smart and learned that the neighbors' chickens were invisible when they came into her yard. She loved to run and bark at the heron when it came to visit the fish in my pond. In the 60+ years that I have had dogs share my life I have never enjoyed a smarter and more loving dog.
She died just after turning 14. Her death was peaceful. Her vet said she was healthy and it was just her time to leave us.
Remembering and honoring you every day, in many different ways
