Kioko

Forever in our hearts
Kioko, born October 5, 1999, crossed over the rainbow bridge Friday, March 14, 2014. The happiest puppy we had ever seen, we named her Kioko, meaning "meets the world with much happiness." Ailed by health problems her entire life, including food allergies, skin allergies, ear infections, two severe neck infections of unknown origin, being kicked in the head by a deer giving birth, numerous joint problems including knee and hip surgeries, renal disease, and then a final diagnosis of osteosarcoma, she exceeded all expectations by living to the ripe old age of 14 ½ years! RIP Kioko, I know Kaja and Koby were waiting for you on the other side, and the three of you have been reunited again! Kioko is the dog that got us involved with TVGRR. Kioko was at my side for many home visits. She walked right in like she owned the place and set out to investigate every corner to make sure the adopter’s home was appropriate for their new furry friend. Kioko was our greeter for all of our foster dogs over the years and she made sure each one felt welcome. She loved the beach, the lake, boat rides, going for walks, chasing deer and sleeping in the middle of the floor so everyone knew where she was. She vacationed in Corpus Christi, TX, Dauphin Island, AL, numerous trips to VA Beach and hiked on part of the Appalachian Trail. Even in her last days, if she was outside when I came home from work, she got up to greet me. Kioko was my doggie soul mate.
