Levi
Forever in our hearts
Levi knew how stunningly captivating his blue eyes were and was never too proud to use them to catch peoples attention. He was never at all interested in other Dogs, but he loved attention from adults & children alike.
He was fiercely loyal and would do anything to protect me - he proved that more than once.
We met when Levi was 6 years old and we only had 3 years 8 months and 12 days together, but he made every day memorable for all the right reasons. He clearly didn't have the best start to life, but that didn't stop him from enjoying every possible moment he could & making the most of our time together. Levi's energy & enthusiasm meant I had to get fit quickly to keep up with him, but he was obviously very pleased when I was able to run with him - even if it wasn't as fast as he could run.
We lost Levi on June 2nd, 2012 to Lymphosarcoma, but even at the end his strength and determination were abundant. I'm still learning the lessons he taught me and there's not a day goes by without me thinking a lot about him.
When asked if we'd get another Dog, I would answer Levi would let me know when the time was right and through a series of events that could best be described as a demonstration of Levi's wonderfully subtle sense of humour, 13 months after losing him, Levi directed us to Indi - a 2 year old female Husky with the same stunning eyes being cared for in the same shelter we found Levi in - the Oakville Humane Society.
Thanks Levi, for everything
