Loki
Forever in our hearts
At the time of this event, I had 16 rescued cats and two dogs, Loki, and a young Rajah. After a termite inspection inside the house, I walked with the inspector around the exterior. We exited thru the front door. The inspection ended near my open garage. Following the inspection I left for work. This, around 1:00PM. At about 5:30 PM I arrived home to find Loki, all 111 pounds of him, sitting on the threshold of the wide open front door, barking like crazy. I panicked, fearing all the cats and my new puppy, having gone walk about. I ran inside, shut the door, and counted noses. All present and accounted for! Loki saved the day. There were several workmen working on the roof of the house across the street. They said Loki had been there since a few minutes after I left, when for whatever reason the door opened (I'd neglected to pull it shut so the snap lock engaged) guarding his home from intruders... AND keeping the kitties and pup from going out. He was, and remains my hero to this day.
