LUCY

Forever in our hearts

Lucy was my heart dog.  Looking into her eyes felt like she was looking into my soul.  When I would hug her, I could feel her energy transferring.  It felt as if we were melding together. It was a feeling I had never experienced with any human or animal. After her passing, I would see  & feel her spirit often.  Four months after her passing, I brought my new pup Sam home. 10 days later, late at night, I had a vision of Lucy on the bed where she always slept. I was on the floor holding Sam and I looked up to see Lucy as she jumped up and was so happy. She ran back and forth then ran as if she was going up a hill.  She stopped, then turned her head to look at me and said, "It's Sam's turn", then vanished.  Since then, I have not seen or felt Lucy similarly.  Sam on the other hand is very needy and just what I needed.  I think Lucy knew what I would need after she left and she sent Sam to me.  All the time she was with me, I never realized what she was teaching me. She changed my life forever.

The journey through grief is different for everyone, but we know support, community and sharing stories help make the experience one of remembrance, renewal and even celebration of the life lost. We hope you find comfort in the memorial you’ve set up for your companion and encourage you to share with family and friends so they can show their love and support.
