Lucy

Lucy came into our lives just when we needed her. We had just lost our beloved Golden Retriever, Champ to lymphoma, and she immediately stood out to me at Sooner Golden Retriever Rescue. Lucy made herself right at home with no adjustments (although she never answered to Lucy) and acted like she'd been with us forever. Sadly, about 6 months later she got her own cancer diagnosis: Intestinal and Lymphoma. She took surgery like a trooper, but it was just too much. We were so glad we could give Lucy a loving home in her last months, but again our hearts were broken. I'm happy to say that we now have a happy, healthy 2 year old Golden Retriever named Nick. Hopefully, research can help us to understand why and how this deadly disease can be prevented in the future.
