Milo
Forever in our hearts
Milo was the friendliest cat I've ever met. Found at a rest stop in Wisconsin, my parents were instantly in love with this little guy. He had clearly been left by someone, and melted when my mom picked him up and gave him the love and attention he deserved. They brought him home and took him to the humane society, only to be the ones who adopted him a few days later. From the moment they brought him home Milo welcomed anyone into "his" home, whether it was another human or another pet. He immediately bonded with my parents' cat and lab, then welcomed in their new puppy and kitten when both the elder pets moved on. Not only did Milo welcome my parents' permanent pets, he welcomed visitors too. On multiple occasions, either my sister or I would bring our cats to our parents to stay while we were home from college. Most cats wouldn't handle this well, but Milo just thought "Hey, more friends!" Milo's friendly nature was not just with animals, he loved all humans as well. He would welcome visitors at the door like a dog, rub up against their legs, and quietly mew / squeak until he was picked up and allowed to "kiss" you on the nose. The bond with my parents, though, was unparalleled...they were clearly his whole world, especially my mom. I've witnessed many animal-human relationships, but this one was special, there are no words to describe it. Milo's loving nature was addicting...the world would be a better place if everyone learned a lesson from Milo about life.
