Miss Winnie
Forever in our hearts
Miss Winnie was my constant companion as I have been retired for five years. She was a princess and delicately crossed her paws upon lying down. One at a time she ate her dried kibble by using her left paw to push it out of the dish and onto the bed to consume. She loved her clean water every morning and would patiently wait while I washed the bowl and filled it; afterward, she immediately went to drink from it. Since she would tip the bowl and play with the water, I had to put it on a tray, so it would not run all over. Toward the end of her short life of seven and a half years she dipped or swirled her left paw into the water and licked her paw. How she loved clean sheets, towels and bedding that was changed every day. She would throw herself down and roll all around. Miss Winnie walked me up and down the hall and from room to room, always to my left side.
Pancreatitis, gastroenteritis and kidney failure took her from me all too soon. How I miss my beloved pet.
