O'Hara
Forever in our hearts
O'Hara joined our family when he was 6-months old. Found on the side of a highway in NJ, he was brought to a local vet for safekeeping by the highway police.
I happened to be the "Intake Person" on duty when the call came in and I volunteered to foster him. He was my first foster failure.
Chunky Monkey, as he was nicknamed, was the Town Mayor. He was not fat, I honestly don't know how he got that name. But he loved everybody and greeted them all with a hearty wag of his tail and lots of kissed. He was a real "social animal" as you can see by his Halloween costume!
O'Hara loved to play, swim and chase tennis balls. He was a gorgeous reddish gold color; in the summer he would lay out on the lawn and his fur would develop gorgeous blonde highlights - the kind women pay hundreds of dollars for!
He developed cancer in his heart and we lost him within a month of his diagnosis. A part of my heart went with him when he died.
