Panther
Forever in our hearts
Panther was a sweet half-ragdoll boy who gave us so much joy during his lifetime, which was 16 years. He was diabetic, which we were able to manage pretty well with daily insulin injections. (The injections were painless, given by lifting the loose skin on the scruff of the neck and injecting just under the skin.) There were a few occasions when his pancreas would start producing insulin, and his blood sugar would plummet dangerously low. With the help of the local emergency vet, he was able to pull through each time. We were devastated when our little friend was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. The Pope recently said that all of God's creatures cross over to Heaven. If I make it there, I most surely want to see Panther again.
