Pepper

In Memory

I first met Pepper in May 2017. It was another May Day. I was getting out of high school early because the seniors at my school were graduating and me and my mother went to the shelter and got my cat Pepper. We were his second owners as his first owner died of cancer and he ended up with his owners family members but they eventually turned him over to a shelter where me and my mother got him.

Pepper at first would poop in my parents closet in their bedroom and my dog Henry was happy when Peeper did that because it meant he was not one the one in trouble.

Pepper was also affectionate to my parents this happened after we came home from Oklahoma when got pepper from the kennel he had been staying at while I was visiting my grandparents in October 2021.

Another memory I have of him was when he laid down on the couch in the living room right next me when I was sick with a stomach bug last year in April 2023.

My dad also enjoyed petting him in the evening when he came home from work and in the mornings before going to work.

The journey through grief is different for everyone, but we know support, community and sharing stories help make the experience one of remembrance, renewal and even celebration of the life lost. We hope you find comfort in the memorial you’ve set up for your companion and encourage you to share with family and friends so they can show their love and support.
