Peter Paul Whalen

Forever in our hearts
My dog Peter showed up at our house on Labor day 2003. He was about 4 months old we tried to find his true owners but we couldn't. We instantly fell in love with him and we knew we wanted to keep him. A few months later my husband was deployed to Iraq for 18 months. My dog became my rock I was so worried about my husband because I had no contact with him I wanted to lose my mind but my new found puppy kept me grounded. He had help me through hard times and always loved him extra for helping me. My dog was unfortunately diagnosed with diabetes and it was very bad. He had to take insulin 2 times a day and a large dose of it too. I always had to make sure I was always home to take care of him. After being diagnosed he had a stroke that he did recover from but a few months later he had another one this time it was more neurological. He then suffered with thyroid problems and a tumor in his nose. However he was still happy and we still enjoyed him. Peter lived a very good life but too short of a life. But then in July 2013 we realized that the time had come to have to send him to Rainbow Bridge it was probably one of the worst days ever for us. Now I realize we have done the right thing because he is free happy and no longer in pain. I know he is with us everyday and we love you Peter Paul I couldn't have asked for a better dog. Run free son run free mommy and daddy will always love you and know you are with us.
