Rajah

Rajah was adopted from a rescue group, as have all of my furry companions, to be a buddy to Loki, who was aging gracefully. Rajah, to his everlasting credit, redecorated my entire house... as a pup. He disemboweled two sofas, two love seats, and an easy chair, turned many cardboard boxes into tiny bits of confetti, nibbled into the installed carpeting, chewed a number of audio and video cassettes into salvage, etc., etc., etc. He was however, very sweet, got along wonderfully with Loki and all the kitties, and seemed to care a great deal for me. Before his first birthday he managed to tear his ACL, right hind leg, and had to have reparative surgery, involving a titanium brace, screws, and a piece of cadaver bone. Before surgery he couldn't use is leg and limped pitifully. Following surgery, I mean like the next day, he was full of energy, and wanted to run. Unfortunately for Raj, he had to be restrained, so he was tethered to me via his leash, for 6 weeks, to include those middle of the winter nights, when he had to go outside to do his business. Rajah lived to be 13 years old, pure sweetness all the while, as he lost his battle to various health issues.
