Ruby
Ruby gifted us with 8 1/2 years of pure love, connection and joy. She was wherever we were, a constant soft presence that all was well. Growing up with my youngest son, Ruby would often comfort him by licking his head if he was ever upset. She didn't do that with anyone else. She had the best eye contact; would jump up on my lap and place her paws on my shoulders and we would look into each other's souls, or so it seemed. She went everywhere with us, hiking, vacations, shopping (wherever dogs were allowed, Ruby was with us). She didn't love other dogs because she was attacked as a pup but absolutely loved people and cats. She loved her toys, tennis balls and green beans as a treat. She understood so many words. The smartest dog I ever knew and the most loving being. She knew us. We knew her. She passed so suddenly on 6/29 of an autoimmune disorder where her platelets dropped to zero. She was gone within 24 hours. She is everywhere in our home and no where to be found and we are so sad. She was the dog of our lives.
Remembering and honoring you every day, in many different ways
