SPOT
Forever in our hearts
I was graced to have Spot for almost 16 years. I called him my Brother as he was much more than a pet. He went to work with me everyday and stayed by my side always. He was loving to all of my other animals( 5 other dogs and 16 cats. All rescued or dumped in front of my house in the country) Even the wild animals loved him. There was a huge ground hog that would just sit on his haunches, never running away, and spot would greet him, from a distance of a few feet. There were acres of trees on my property that deer would bed down underneath. One day I was walking Spot and he was about 10 feet in front when we passed by a tree that had a full grown Buck bedded down underneath. The buck did not even move even though Spot was less than 3 feet away. I guess they were old friends. Spot stopped and they looked at each other and we kept walking as the buck took a nap. When one of my other pets passed Spot would sit facing away from the grave i was digging. He then would walk with me to the house to get the pet, walk back outside with me and when I had placed the animal in the grave Spot would come over and smell him, stand silently for a few moments and then sit in front facing away as I filled the grave in. H e then would stand with me again in silence as I said my goodbye. There is so many more stories to illustrate how special this dog was.As a tribute the above picture is now tattooed on my chest with the inscription in Sanskrit "Beloved Brother, closest to my Heart"
