Sunshine
Forever in our hearts
She was a rescue dog from Humane Society. She had been displaced by a Hurricane that went through Alabama and there were so many pets displaced that many were shipped down here. Thing was, she was pregnant, and they waited till she gave birth and after 6 weeks they took the pups away and put her up.
She was frightened and scared and refused to walk on her own. Traci fell in love with her. We adopted her immediately, and that first night she had to be carried outside to walk, carried back in the house and the next morning...carried again.
The first few years we had her she never barked. One day she decided to use her voice and barked at some kids. We were amazed.
She loved to run and play.
She was my daughter’s dog. Here’s what she wrote on her FB page: “My heart is hurting because today I had to say goodbye to my baby girl , Sunny, who has been with my family for 11+ years. Baby girl we've had our ups and downs, but through it all, I've never stopped loving you. I can only hope that when it's time for me to go, you'll be there on the other side waiting for me, right next to that rainbow bridge. It gonna be a bit of a long wait but I know you can do it. You're the type of girl who could live through almost anything and not really care about it, you bamfing dog. You're mommy loves you, Sunny.” - written by Tim Brosnan
