Thomas
Forever in our hearts
Thomas was a beautiful, strong, athletic Labrador. Beginning around his 6th Birthday I noticed changes in his personality and activity level. He slowed down, lost interest in ball games and played less with his younger sister. Symptoms were vague. Our vet spoke about age, but I knew this was too soon for that and the changes came on more quickly than age would affect. Thomas continued on until the summer of his 8th Birthday. That is when neurological signs began. I felt his eyesight was going and he seemed somewhat confused. At that time Thomas began to circle, always to the left unless he was on leash. He would literally walk himself into a corner and be stuck there. This was the point at which we were sent to a cancer center for neurological diagnosis. The MRI told the story...massive brain tumor on the left side of his brain. Thomas' prognosis was very grim. I was not going to put him through needless treatments. Thomas is now at the Rainbow Bridge, happy & free of pain & worry.
