Twist

Forever in our hearts
Twist entered our lives on August 31, 2014 like a tornado. Hence the name Talisman let's give it a whirl aka "Twist." The third addition to our Aussie pack joining his big brother Summit and sister Lira. His love for life and willingness to please was apparent the day we picked him up. He stormed into our hearts and our home trying to take over at just 12 weeks old. He was a handful to say the least. His athleticism and work ethic at an early age was amazing to see. Agility, herding, nosework and frisbee were activities he shined at. It was October of 2015 when I came home from a long weekend I found him just a bit off. Still wanting to play and work for me but something was just not right. After multiple visits to the vet over the next few days and a rapid decline we rushed him to a neurologist. MRI confirmed a large mass in his neck pressing down on his spinal cord. Biopsy confirmed the worst possible news osteosarcoma. It was only five days after symptoms presented we had to say goodbye to our little man. Gone to soon at 16 months. Our hearts continue to heal and believe one day we will see him again at the rainbow bridge. We are grateful to the Morris Animal Foundation who continue to fight to find a cure for the love of our best friends. "Run free without pain little man and I know you taking good care of our family." "Your star continues to shine bright in the sky." "Thank you for letting us be your family." Judi & Hank Schachte
